A Whole Lotta Corona

I counted the birds, flies, lizards, iguanas, alligators, pelicans, frogs, butterflies, blue jays, panthers, squirrels, foxes, manatee, blue jays… they all came by to say hello. I took one look at them and paid them no mind. I am in the zone. The corona virus quarantine of sorts zone. No care in the world but the beer on hand. Self imposed it is not, a choice it wasn’t but here I am, shoot me then but no, ammunition I do not own nor care to possess.

The last time that many animals came by, they looked scared, confused. They were running around with their tails curled up their derrieres like a frozen papaya from the bird flu. Yeah, word on the street, it was a make believe. Sure, I am yet to see an animal fearful of a bird but it is Corona; yup, C-o-r-o-n-a, animal she isn’t but surely is acting like one motherland beast. And as the story goes, a girl can no longer enjoy her favorite beer without envisioning a germ creeping crawling right up to her spine. Yah, I can imagine. A movie it isn’t; bam, reality it is.

Wash your hands they say. I do. No lies, just flies. No traffic jam, no truck trailer or yellow bus. Just I, at home chillin. The sun is out. The sky is blue. The streets a ghost town. The mood is good, so far. The breeze is flowing. And I, one cucumber over the moon, green as my unpeeled banana on a extended vacation. Life is for the living and the grass is always greener tomorrow. Trim it. Walk with kindness. Wave all your fingers high, say hi. Be good to your fellow earth dwellers. Smile. Cheers!
