The Quest For One Mint Blood Moon Picture

It is official, I need better lens or perhaps, a better camera. Any Padrinho (Godfather. In Portuguese culture, the person is not only responsible for the child’s religion education but also to shower the child with gifts at any occasion) out there?

Something happened on the way to the Blood Moon, seriously it did. Is it a fact that I woke up in the middle of the night, wee hours of the morning, to see the Blood Moon? Yes. Is it a fact that my Cannon Eos Rebel camera was not cooperating due to low light and distance? Yes. Is it a fact that I took some pictures that resemble flashy cascading red balls in the air then a moon with my Cannon EFS 55-220 range lens? Yes. Is it a fact that they resemble a locomotive in the air? Yes. Better yet, uncoordinated lines. Oh, the life of an amateur photographer. Yes, it is never perfect. Hope, you enjoy these beautiful moon and it’s sidekick stars or something that resembles it, hence the white lines, pictures I so kindly took. Syke, I guess the joke was on me. It was red alright. Beautiful. Powerful. Phenomenal. Nature in motion!

Mother nature doing her thing. Who needs Key West when we can just get it off our highway?! Any explanation for the ring around the sun? No comments necessary. Just indulge, take it in and relax. One of a kind. One for the books. Beautiful and exquisite sunset!

The Sky This Morning

20130522_075949I celebrated a milestone back in 2010. I am not going to say how many candles I celebrated but found myself on a beach in St. Petersburg, Florida with a few friends, some I had just met the day before through a mutual friend, when I had planned to have this big ole shindig with all the invitees dressed in sky blue attire and bare feet, decor to mirror a wedding, mermaids falling from the sky, Maroon 5 or Prince playing the sound and everyone just having a great time. Oh well, that was just a dream but what a girl to do then dream?! It is cheap and you don’t have to pay a dime.

As I strolled down the beach, enjoying the weather and what mother nature had to offer, I crossed paths with this elderly lady who resorted to asking me a few liners after she learned she was not being photographed, “have you ever noticed that not all the clouds are the same?” Humm, great question. Never noticed, I replied. “Have you ever seen a website or a magazine dedicated solely to clouds?” Again, my answer was no. Perhaps, there is one but personally, aside from the National Geographic magazine publishing one picture here and there, I am yet to see a periodical totally dedicated to it. So, no.

20130522_080026_2Funny how things work. I found myself from that point on, kinda consumed, paying attention to every little cloud in the sky, photographing, cataloging them daily which I hope to publish soon. Call it geek or whatever you want, trust me when I say that it is a lot fun, specially when you take a few minutes to gaze and witness them metamorphosing, it is one cool phenomenon… exhale!

P.S. These pictures were taken with my cell phone hence the quality but they look great I might add.
