It was hot, humid as the sweat could see morning. Water and sunglasses were in place, shades required but were not a must. Wind blowing a tad, plenty to make a bird faint-hearted but not powerful enough to lift a tree off its roots. I guarantee you, it was not raining nor did it appear it would but it might, the day was still young and this is South Florida after all. It made my timing outside mouthwatering, considering my love and hate relationship with heat. Yes, we just don’t get along. I have been known to hit the pavement once or twice because of it. Not a pretty scenario but it played in the theater near me, handsome first responders included. They were a pie in a box of chips and I did not complained. I just said Amen and went about my day! Thank you mother nature for being so kind to me. Mr gym, we shall talk next week. We have a date.

The Sky This Morning
I celebrated a milestone back in 2010. I am not going to say how many candles I celebrated but found myself on a beach in St. Petersburg, Florida with a few friends, some I had just met the day before through a mutual friend, when I had planned to have this big ole shindig with all the invitees dressed in sky blue attire and bare feet, decor to mirror a wedding, mermaids falling from the sky, Maroon 5 or Prince playing the sound and everyone just having a great time. Oh well, that was just a dream but what a girl to do then dream?! It is cheap and you don’t have to pay a dime.
As I strolled down the beach, enjoying the weather and what mother nature had to offer, I crossed paths with this elderly lady who resorted to asking me a few liners after she learned she was not being photographed, “have you ever noticed that not all the clouds are the same?” Humm, great question. Never noticed, I replied. “Have you ever seen a website or a magazine dedicated solely to clouds?” Again, my answer was no. Perhaps, there is one but personally, aside from the National Geographic magazine publishing one picture here and there, I am yet to see a periodical totally dedicated to it. So, no.
Funny how things work. I found myself from that point on, kinda consumed, paying attention to every little cloud in the sky, photographing, cataloging them daily which I hope to publish soon. Call it geek or whatever you want, trust me when I say that it is a lot fun, specially when you take a few minutes to gaze and witness them metamorphosing, it is one cool phenomenon… exhale!
P.S. These pictures were taken with my cell phone hence the quality but they look great I might add.
Mother Nature And Her Secrets
This happened on Monday over Miami; a big ring around the sun. Being from a fishing country where back in the days TV and meteorology report was not available to many, the fisherman would rely, and I believe some still do, solely on this weather patterns to elect to whether or not go out to sea. I always heard and the weatherman confirmed it, to be a phenomenon indicating impending rain. Yet, there are others who find it to be mystical, spiritual, somehow divine. Whatever it is, whatever you believe, it was awesome to watch.
