Sand Castle Art

IMG_4020There is something mystical about building a sand castle. You are building something that you know for a fact that if not erected yards away from the seabed, soon or later, it will wash away in an instance. All it will take is one grand wave for your beautiful creation to turn into a pile of wet particulars.

IMG_4022Castle building is art. It is an art form for a selected few. It is relaxing, spiritual, zen, therapeutic. It is artistry. It is a chance encounter recreational art. It is not a souvenir nor an article you can take home or sell in the next market. It is love, dedication, work. You can’t freeze it or taste it. You can only display it until the next tide. It is a pillar of tenacity, an exercise of the mind, here today, gone tomorrow.

In the sand building world, the sand becomes your canvas, your finger, a rock or a piece of wood, your pencil and your thoughts, your guide. It requires love, care and dedication.

IMG_4025This is one art form I never dubbed into nor profess to know but have watched a few brave ones painstakingly diving into it with calmness of a tiger ready to attack its pray, leaving me at hello.

It is drive. love. addiction. gusto. Otherwise, there is no explanation.

IMG_4027Building a castle is tranquility. silence. solitude. happiness.

IMG_4023I found this gentleman at New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He was obviously plunged into his labor of art, oblivious of our presence and just kept going. Last I check, he was still building. I wonder what became of the castle.

Visit to the Island of Murano, Venice

IMG_5072Still traveling through Venezia and since it was a day of leisure, we went our separate ways to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. Murano is famous for its beautiful glass blown products. We visited Ferro & Lazzarini and watched a demonstration of glass blowing and then visited the shop where there were endless numbers of beautiful glass products of every size, shape and color.  They don’t allow pictures in their showroom. So, enter the website here and enjoy.

Buckle Up And Dream!

1979188_10202370197592761_628462489_o

As the say goes, follow your dreams, the yellow brick road down the river and knock that door. Knock intensely until your knuckles surrenders. Tear through the glasshouse and take matters into your hands, no matter how long it takes, how hard it gets, the circumstances or hurdles you may encounter, just do it.

Go after it with hunger and passion in your soul. Don’t find yourself regretting yesterday, reflecting on what could have been, crying miserably while binging on a pile of bananas.

Live your life intensely or whatever pace your boat flows, whether big or small, enjoy what it brings. Engrave your aspirations on the curvaceous wall and let it stretch.

Ask for it, put it out there and let it be. It may take years, journeying itself in the open ocean, pulling and grabbing perks. Eventually, you will unearth yourself at the tip of that dream, querying on when and how you got there.

The sky is no limit when you are running down the corridor of zest. Hungry for love you are, for success you dream, for life you ride, indefinitely. Do it with your eyes closed, at sound of the water dripping from an air handler. Jump in that water, pump the gas pedal, put on your sailor’s hat and rocket that boat. Push that button and go for it. Dream!

Easier said than done right?! Not really. To dream is to live an ideal. It is inexpensive, unsolicited, intoxicating and sometimes, breathtaking. You don’t have to pay a cent, it is out there and barring any nightmares, you are on. Have faith. Do not buckle at first smell of defeat. Just lay quietly and if you are lucky, it will meet you shortly after your head caresses the pillow. Good night. Sweet dreams!
