Through The Mountain I am

When the mountain in your path is so huge, it feels like a big brick wall and you are about to hit it. Yes, we all have been thorough the ringer, that little dance of hitting a break wall, finding ourselves a top of a steep mountain sometimes, searching for our souls and resolves to no avail. Some have been there and many will be there one day. It is a given, that’s what strengthens us, what builds character. No one is immune to it but it is how we deal with and the method we choose that makes it whole. It is what it is and we should remind ourselves that we are blessed always regardless.

Sightseeing Assisi Style

One segway, two segways, three segways. I noticed them to our left as we were on a way to the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi to sing. We were running late. The 11:00 mass was about to star and the priest was anxiously waiting for us by the door but I could not let this moment pass by. I guess they did not want to climb those stairs as inclined as they are, hence the segways.

Counting Blessings

The time you realize it hasn’t been that bad, they have quietly been walking by you all along. Life takes you through roads, harsh pavements and broken glasses. You ride a bicycle, bus, train, take the helicopter, subway. You parachute down the open skies and land on top of an earthquake. You drive a car through endless highways, bake that perfect cake, peak through the window to seeing only one dope of combustible cocktail, a blank paper in the open vent. When the revolving door keeps going, non stop, all seem so bleak. You find yourself asking the universe up stairs to mend fences, find you that perfect corner to rid away your soul, to waking up from a drunken stupor stage to small dots of blessings bundled in one perfect bouquet. Yes, I am awake after all. It is Friday and the weekend folks. Many blessings to you. Let the church say Amen!
