My father by now only speaks a few words, the ones he remembers. One day a friend came to visit and my sister unaware that there wasn’t liquor in the house, told her that she could not be able to offer her anything to drink because we did not have any at the house. Mind you we were both visiting from abroad so, we had no idea there were liquor and more surprised my mother was keeping all that stuff in the house. As soon as she finishes the sentence, my father wakes up and mumbles a few words. We could not decipher what he was trying to say but decided to help and guide him to wherever he wanted to go. A trip that usually takes 2 seconds took us almost 20 min with us ending up in front of an armoire. He then turns around, points to a lower door and says “there, the plane is right there”. Perplexed, he even knew what’s up, we could not contain ourselves but laughed so hard our stomachs hurt.
